An encrypted container is an encrypted file that can be connected to any free drive letter and treated like a regular drive. To connect, you will need to enter the password that you specified when creating the container. After mounting the encrypted container, all files on it become available, and the program automatically decrypts and encrypts them. When the system is shut down or the container is disconnected, access to information is terminated.
Connected containers can be accessed through Windows Explorer or other programs. Containers appear as physical or removable drives. In the program itself, you see a list of created containers.
The clear interface of the program does not require special skills; even a beginner will be able to deal with data encryption. Using the creation assistant, you do not need to understand the algorithms and encryption modes - you just need to select the size and level of encryption strength of the disk.
If you are a professional and want to personally control the process, then use the expert mode with advanced settings. It allows the user to set the container type, select the encryption algorithm and mode, set the container size and key length.
Taking a disk snapshot will allow you to restore the saved container state in real time at any time and continue working with files. All unsaved changes will be destroyed and all data will return to the saved state.
You can set from 128 megabytes to 4 terabytes.
In eDisk, you can set it to dynamic (in which the size of the disk grows as it fills it with information) or static (in which the specified space is reserved on the disk).
It is impossible to recover the password.
The operating system or antivirus has opened the file and is working with it. Close all programs and try again.
